Lockdown Grants Update

Information from Cornwall Council's Covid-19 Business Support Website The Government has announced one-off top up grants for; retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property, to help businesses forced to close from January 5, 2021 as a result of the national lockdown.  Local Restrictions Support Grant If your business received a Local Restrictions Support Grant due to the previous national lockdown (5 Nov - 2 Dec 2020), you do not need to reapply for any of the grants due from the 31st December onwards. We will use the details from your previous application to pay you. If you have not already claimed for this period but think you are eligible, you can still make a claim. Who is eligible? The grant is available to those businesses that pay business rates that;  were required to close during the national lockdown from 5 November to 2 December 2020  were required to close when Tier 2 restrictions were put in place in Cornwall on 26 December 2020  were required to close (or remain closed) when Tier 3 restrictions were put in place on 31 December 2020  were required to close (or remain closed) when the national lockdown came into force on 05 January 2021      Check if you're eligible How much will I get? The grants available are between £667 and £1,500 for every 14 days that the restrictions apply. The amount is determined by the rateable value of the property you occupy. Next steps The current application form will be updated to enable businesses that have become eligible for grants since 31 December 2020 to apply. We will be contacting eligible pubs about a Christmas support payment grant of £1000. Christmas support payment grant This grant is for wet-led pubs, where most of the income comes from serving drinks, which were required to close when tier 2 restrictions came into force on 26 Dec 2020 until tier 3 restrictions were introduced on 31 Dec 2020.  Other grants There are also grants available for businesses that remained open but were severally affected for the period from 26 December onwards. Further information on these will become available shortly.
