G7 update

26th May, 2021
Hello everyone As I am sure you are aware, with the G7 event scheduled for 11th – 13th June 2021, Cornwall Council and Cornwall and Devon Police will be putting a series of road closures and security checks in place around Newquay Airport, St Ives / Carbis Bay and Falmouth. The plan of road closures and security check points surrounding Newquay Airport has now been published and can be found on the police website listed below. There will be a road closure and checkpoint on the Southern Access Road, the main turning into the Aerohub Business Park from the A3059, but it will be after the turning to Sector 2 and the business park plots ensuring access for businesses in these areas. There will however, be temporary road closures in the wider Newquay Airport surrounds during the take-off and landing of some aircraft. These closures will range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Businesses within the perimeter and in the immediate vicinity of Cornwall Newquay Airport will be contacted shortly by the Cabinet Office with specific identification requirement instructions. We recommend that tenants and their staff carry ID and proof of their work address for the duration of the restrictions even if it is not explicitly required. Devon & Cornwall Police have released further information about the event and the impact on local areas, including diversions, access and restrictions: G7 - Devon & Cornwall Police (devon-cornwall.police.uk). This is being updated regularly and is worth keeping an eye on. We will keep you updated with any further information that we receive. Please share this information with anyone who has a presence in your office or unit.
